Overwatch League: The Boston Uprising in free fall?

This season isn’t the easiest for the Boston Uprising; the team continues to suffer failures and is positioned in tenth place out of thirteen in the overall ranking. While qualifying for the Summer Shodown could have helped them, they didn’t know how to position themselves to qualify. The course was strewn with pitfalls and only a miracle could allow them to participate in this long-awaited league tournament.

In addition to this news, last week a departure took place: that of one of their coaches Dennis “Barroi” Matz who had been at their side for a little over a year. This week, a new departure is announced, that of head coach Kim “Lori” Seung-hyun who has been following the team for more than two years.

The Boston Uprising now have only one coach to motivate the troops: Valentin “Ascoft” Wulfman who takes the place of head coach. No information has been released on the potential search for another coach, but one thing is certain: the Boston Uprising are in bad shape. Two veteran coaches left, including Barroi who joined the Vancouver Titans. This season does not seem to be the right one for the Boston Uprising, maybe the next one will be much better with new coaches and possibly a change of players. However, only the future will be able to confirm this.

As a reminder, the Summer Shodown will begin on September 8 for the West regions and September 9 for the East regions. The competition for the tournament will take the form of a regional 3-map match, with teams ranked according to their total league points they were able to accumulate in weeks 1-4 of the qualifying phase. The team that achieves three victories will be declared the winner of the tournament.
