Colombo: Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah is out of the tournament after getting injured in the match against India in the Asia Cup Super Four. This was officially announced by the Pakistan team on Wednesday. Naseem is injured on his right shoulder. Right-arm pacer Zaman Khan has been included in the squad as a replacement.
Naseem has been out injured just hours before the crucial match against Sri Lanka in the Super Four. At the same time, the Pakistan management also announced that another Pakistani player Haris Rauf, who was injured during the match against India, has regained fitness. Rauf will play against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Rauf bowled only five overs in the match against India. Naseem Shah returned without completing the last over. The PCB said in a statement that Naseem Shah has been sidelined for the remaining matches of the tournament as a precautionary measure considering that the World Cup is just days away.
