Pakistani Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that at least 350 Pakistanis were on an overcrowded boat that sank at sea off Greece last week.
Sanaullah told the Pakistani parliament that the boat, which can carry 400 people, had more than 700 people on board, adding that a total of 281 Pakistani families had approached the government asking for help.
Another hundred and ninety-three Pakistani families were given DNA tests to match their DNA with those who died or went missing in the boat sinking, which is among the biggest maritime disasters in Europe in recent years.
