The palace and gardens outside Paris are cleared. The second time within a few days. A bomb squad is deployed.
The Palace of Versailles, just outside Paris, was evacuated on Tuesday followingnoon, just a few days following a bomb scare led to an evacuation over the weekend.
The popular tourist attraction said in a post on X that it would remain closed today for “safety reasons.”
The evacuation was triggered by a bomb alarm and bomb disposal teams were on the way, the broadcaster BFM TV reported, citing the police.
Both Versailles and the Louvre Museum were evacuated on Saturday due to security warnings. France has increased its security alert level to the maximum levelfollowing last week a teacher was fatally stabbed. The attack might be due to the war between Israel and Hamas, officials said.
