Paléo Music Festival: Six Days of Music, Innovation, and Immersive Experiences

Paléo is preparing to open its doors on Tuesday and to welcome 250,000 festival-goers for six days. After offering many novelties last year, the Nyon festival is betting on a certain continuity.

Monday in front of the press, director Daniel Rossellat recalled that two new stages had been inaugurated in 2022, Vega and Belleville. In view of the “incredible support” of the public, they were renewed.

“However, we still had a small margin for innovation,” noted the boss and founder of the festival. Belleville, dedicated to electronic music, will benefit for example from new blue-green lighting, supposed to offer a “most immersive” decor, say the organizers.

A few new features should also be mentioned at the Village du monde which, according to Daniel Rossellat, “suffered a little last year from the new competition from Vega and Belleville”.

Dedicated this year to Brazil, the Village du monde has taken care of its decor with, for example, giant leaves that will surround a waterfall, inside which a bar has been installed.

Efforts have also been made on the various light installations, particularly in the Quartier des Alpes. “They must be beautiful by day, magical by night,” said Daniel Rossellat.

“Weather accomplice”

For the boss of Paléo, this 46th edition promises to be in “a favorable context”. He cites a “complicit weather” so far, and which should remain so during the week, apart from the few risks of thunderstorms, a priori for Tuesday evening.

He also recalls that all tickets left “in record time”, precisely 41 minutes, when they went on sale in March. “This shows, once again, the loyalty of our audience. They don’t just come to Paléo to see a series of concerts, but to live a global experience,” he said.

Note that 1500 tickets will still be on sale each morning, only on the festival website.

Headliners

About 250 concerts and shows are scheduled during the week. Louise Attaque and the Black Eyed Peas will be the headliners of the first evening on the Main Stage, followed the following days by Rosalia, Indochine, Aya Nakamura, Placebo, Lomepal, Damso and Shaka Ponk.

With a budget of 31 million francs, the largest open air in Switzerland expects 250,000 festival-goers and 8,500 campers. Some 10,500 people are involved in organizing the festival, including 5,500 volunteers.
