Marcel Levi is an internist, professor of medicine and chairman of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). He held sway over the AMC in Amsterdam for years and was at the head of seventeen London hospitals for almost 5 years, where he participated in the hectic intensive care unit during the corona crisis. On behalf of the NWO, he calls for more attention – and financial resources – for the applications of science and he wants to look at the future with an innovative view.
