Karim Benzema won the 2022 Ballon d’Or, while Robert Lewandowski received the Gerd Muller Prize, but social media activists focused on something else related to the vast difference between the price of the two big stars’ watches.
Benzema appeared at the Ballon d’Or gala in Paris on Monday night, wearing the world’s most complex watch brand “Richard Mille RM 65-01”, whose production company took 5 years of testing to introduce to the market, as it includes a high scale. Frequency is able to reduce the time to a tenth of a second with maximum accuracy, which is of course very expensive at half a million euros.
Quite the opposite, Lewandowski appeared to wear a much cheaper watch on his wrist on Monday, identified as a Casio watch worth just €60.
The Polish star previously owned a Patek Philippe watch worth 70,000 euros, but it was stolen in a major accident at the entrance to the Barcelona sports complex earlier in the season.
