Paraguay is preparing to showcase its culture in Japan during Expo Osaka

The first lady, Leticia Ocampos, leads the executive committee for Expo Osaka, ensuring extensive inter-institutional cooperation, involving the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur), the National Secretariat of Culture (SNC) and the Paraguayan Institute of Crafts (IPA). ) to design Paraguay’s stand at the exhibition, among other institutions.

In an interview with IP, Vice Minister Maluff detailed Paraguay’s progress and objectives at Expo Osaka, highlighting that after the visit to Japan in March, the date of Paraguay’s National Day was established at the exhibition, scheduled for May 19, 2025. .

“The fair will have an important cultural connotation, it is not just a trade fair,” Maluff explained. “We are putting together a plan to take advantage of all the fair events in Japan annually, combining participation in food fairs with cultural visits to Osaka,” she said.

The vice minister explained that the main objective at the Paraguay stand will be to promote the country’s culture and tourism, as well as celebrate the relationship with Japan through the Nikkei community. Next year will mark the 89th anniversary since the first Japanese migration to Paraguay, a significant date that will be celebrated together.

In addition, the Vice Minister announced the launch of a platform in May to receive artistic and commercial proposals for Paraguay’s National Day at Expo Osaka. The idea is to change the use of Paraguay’s commercial space at the exhibition monthly during the six-month duration of the event.

With these plans and collaborations, Paraguay hopes to highlight and strengthen its presence at Expo Osaka 2025, showing the best of its culture to international visitors.
