Afterwards, Zhao Nan was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the crime of intentional injury. Fang Huahua was treated in hospitals in Shaanxi, Beijing and other places. After half a year of treatment, my eyesight gradually recovered, and I was transferred to another hospital for surgery, and my ability to walk gradually recovered. Fang Huahua’s medical expenses have accumulated more than 2 million yuan. Because of the huge amount in arrears, the hospital stopped taking medicines, so that he did not receive follow-up treatment, and his physical condition deteriorated as a result. At the same time, the trial of his case accused of deforestation ended, and he was finally sentenced to 3 years and 2 months. Due to his physical disability and treatment needs, he was allowed to be released on parole for medical treatment and community treatment until the expiration of February this year.
However, due to the delay in receiving treatment, Fang Huahua’s health deteriorated severely. Li Youde, a lawyer from Hunan Jianzheng Law Firm, believes that Zhao Nan, who committed intentional injury, should bear civil liability for compensation. If he fails to make compensation, the detention center may bear supplementary responsibility.
