Parents, how the company’s help in managing their children improves productivity

More productivity, more motivation and less stress. This is the set of effects that company initiatives to support the management of children are capable of producing. If we look at large companies, it becomes almost difficult to find cases in which not even a support measure is envisaged, from flexibility to permits to contributions for school fees. In smaller entities the journey is slower, but it has begun. And this is because almost 7 out of 10 professionals say that support measures promote motivation and productivity and at the same time reduce stress.

Jointly carried out research, with the technical-scientific supervision of BDO Advisory Services, on the Professione Genitori programme, which in 7 years involved over 40 thousand parents and children. «The data shows us an engagement rate at historic lows in the labor market – observes Francesca Rizzi, CEO of Jointly – and, at the same time, an increase in stress and malaise, which have also led to an increase in resignations and turnover in Italy . For companies, the real challenge is therefore knowing how to combine organizational and personal wellbeing, and a corporate wellbeing program designed for parents is an example of how this strategy is possible and how it is important to measure its impact to make it sustainable” .

Research

From Jointly’s research, it emerges that for more than two thirds of parents involved in the various programs, engagement has increased and in particular the probability of speaking well of their company (85%) as well as trust in the organization (75%).

Thanks to the possibility of taking advantage of specific support, more than seven out of ten workers, among those who are also parents, have also reduced anxieties and worries related to raising children (88%), improving their work life integration and acquiring the right skills to manage family and work commitments as best as possible (88%).

Greater sense of belonging and less stress have therefore contributed to increasing parents’ productivity at work (75%), saving up to five working days for searching for information and suggestions.
