Paris 2024 Olympics: Camille Prigent’s hopes of a medal in canoeing and kayaking dashed

The performance was nevertheless beautiful, much better than her semi-final: Camille Prigent finished sixth in the Olympic slalom with a descent completed in 101.67 seconds. The only downside in an almost faultless race: the kayaker from Brittany hit a gate about twenty seconds after her start.

Just before her, Australian Jessica Fox was the first to go under the 100-second mark. She therefore won gold with a time of 96.08 seconds for her fourth Olympic Games.

The podium was completed by the Polish Klaudia Zwolinska in second place, and the British Kimberley Woods in third.

Camille Prigent, for her part, can still hope for a medal: she will be competing in the kayak cross event, nicknamed “extreme kayaking”, from August 2.
