Paris Hilton opened up about her choice to have an abortion when she was in her twenties.

In a recent interview with Glamor UK, the star revealed that she was unwilling, until now, to speak publicly about her experience, due to the stigma attached to abortions.
“It was also something I didn’t want to talk about because there was so much shame around it,” she told the magazine. “I was a kid and I wasn’t ready for this. »
However, after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade who guaranteed abortion up to six weeks of pregnancy in June 2022, the 42-year-old star feels the duty to use her notoriety to publicly address the issue and support women’s rights.
Paris Hilton says women should have the freedom to choose what they want to do with their bodies and it shouldn’t be a political issue.
“I think it’s important,” she explained. “There’s so much politics around it, but it’s a woman’s body…Why should there be a law?” It’s your body, your choice and I really believe in it. I find it mind-boggling to make laws to dictate what you should do with your health and your desire for motherhood, because if it was about guys, it wouldn’t be like that at all. »
