Leonardo, the former sports director of Paris Saint-Germain, mocked Kylian Mbappe, and considered that the French star did not have the capabilities that would enable him to lead the French club to achieve the Champions League, and demanded his expulsion.

Mbappe had launched a harsh attack on his club in media statements, on Saturday, and revealed that the next season will be his last in the French League, asking a question to the club’s management about the reason for the repeated failure to win the Champions League.

Speculation has been raised about his future in the French capital club since he told the club last month that he would not accept the option to extend his contract for a period of one year when it expires next year, at a time when the media linked him to moving to Real Madrid.

Leonardo had played a decisive role in persuading Mbappe to sign his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in 2022, before he was removed from his position at the end of the 2021-2022 season, so that the Brazilian left the French club in a controversial manner.

Leonardo opened fire at the star, Mbappe, in statements to the French newspaper, L’Equipe, on Sunday, saying: For the sake of Paris Saint-Germain, it is time for Mbappe to leave.

He added: Paris Saint-Germain was present before Mbappe and will remain without him. He spent six years at the club and there are five teams that won the Champions League without Mbappe.

And he added: Through his behavior during the past two years, Mbappe has shown that he is not a player who is really capable of leading a team, he is a great player but he is not a leader, he is a great scorer and not creative, it is difficult to build a team around him.
