On the 21st, the YouTube channel ‘Park Hanbyul Hana’ released a video titled ‘The Birth Story of Jeju Island Cafe Beljin Bat’.
In the video, Park Han-byul introduces the Jeju cafe she runs and inspects the entrance, saying, “I originally tried to build a tunnel, but it was too expensive so I couldn’t do it. People couldn’t find the entrance, so I put up a dome-shaped structure.”
He then boasted of his amazing skills, saying, “I personally wrote everything from the bathroom drawings to the menu board text.” She added, “I started taking interest in painting while running a cafe.”
Park Han-byul showed a photo of the cafe before construction and revealed the roof, which was rebuilt using a spray gun and paint, saying, “The roof was so charred from the fire.”
He said, “It’s an old house, so the floor height is very low. We couldn’t raise the floor height, so we lowered the ground to create a sense of space. The roof was originally red, but it was too hot in the summer. Even when the air conditioner was turned on, it was inefficient, so we made it with cedar tiles.”
He said, “If it is a new building, there are no additional costs other than the initial cost. The old house is not just what it costs at first. One day it rained, and there was a flood. When I looked, the sewage treatment was not done well. The ground had to be dug up to build a sewer system. “The additional cost was 10 million won. The parking lot construction also cost over 10 million won,” he confessed.
He did not disclose the specific construction cost, but added, “If a friend of mine wants to open a cafe, I would like to tell him not to do so in the old prison.”
Also, regarding the bathroom that attracted a lot of attention, he said, “The interior design manager doesn’t trust me. He tends to think of me as unsophisticated. That’s why he said he only does bathroom construction according to his opinion. It’s sensible and sensuous, but it goes too far. If it’s too artistic, the public will criticize it.” “Isn’t it difficult to understand?” he confessed.
He said, “Originally, it was worse than that. The plan was to write something like ‘You poop X tons in a month…’ on the mirror in front of the toilet. When asked why, he said that he would never have seen his own reflection in the natural world. “They mentioned it,” he said.
