PASOK submitted a motion of no confidence against the government yesterday afternoon through the mouth of its leader Nikos Androulakis.
After the publication which speaks of “altered conversations” of station master on the night of the Tempe tragedy, the reactions at the political level are chain-linking, with the opposition almost as a whole questioning the government. The proposal is supported by the PASOKThe SYRIZAthe Freedom Sailing and the Greek solutionwhile without signing he declares that he supports the KKE.
Taking the floor, Mr Nikos Androulakis he mentioned, among other things, that the government’s only concern was communication management and that the fatal station master was to blame for everything. He accused the government that he avoided giving real explanationss and added: we have established that the undermining of the rule of law in our country is the work of Maximos’ group who also got their hands on the emails of foreign voters.
Minister of State Makis Voridis attacked N. Androulakis with “good evening”
Answering, the Minister of State Makis Voridis, who represented the government, emphasized among other things: “You are a trustee of specific publishing interests. The motion of no confidence is welcome.” However, it still remains open for the government to decide to turn the debate into a vote of confidence.
The meeting will close on Friday with the Prime Minister’s speech to be followed by a roll call vote. According to the Regulation and the Constitution, the no-confidence motion is accepted only if it gathers an absolute majority, i.e. at least 151 in favor, otherwise it is rejected, while at the same time the right to submit a new no-confidence motion is removed for one semester.
ANDREAS KATSANIOTIS: “HUMBLE TO THE INNOCENT SOULS”
Andreas Katsaniotis, Member of Parliament for Achaia, ND, stressed:
“After the motion of no confidence submitted by the opposition, unfortunately the tragedy of Tempe will turn into a “three-day parliamentary trial”. We are turning a big debate about responsibility and cause into a petty political confrontation, at a time when justice should be dealing with it.
Democracy is a continuous process of accountability, evaluation and correction. Sobriety must be her most basic virtue and I am sure that the Greek justice system will do its duty, so that the responsibilities are assigned where they are due.
It is our duty to the innocent souls who have departed to be humble and to shield the institutions so that the
Greek citizens should continue to trust them”.
ANDREAS PANAGIOTOPOULOS: “MISCONFIDENCE IS SOCIAL”
SYRIZA member of parliament for Achaia Andreas Panagiotopoulos emphasizes to “P”:
“Distrust is social. We, as the official opposition party, must transfer to the parliamentary level the mistrust and feeling that dominates society. We bring the Prime Minister to the Parliament to justify or explain the happenings of the crime of Tempe. Have they got their hands on the data?
Why did all this happen? Were parastatal methods noted? Is it possible to cover up or falsify facts of the case or otherwise? I believe we will have a vigorous in-depth discussion that will highlight things.
We see that journalism works. We are also working feverishly. Let everything come to light in order to have a rule of law vis-a-vis the sub-state of Mitsotakis”.
NIKOS KARATHANASOPOULOS: “WE WILL EXPOSE THE COVER-UP ATTEMPTS”
Nikos Karathanasopoulos, KKE’s parliamentary representative and member of parliament for Achaia, said:
“The KKE did not wait for the motion of censure to be filed. Every day he submits a motion of censure against the anti-popular policy of the government, previous governments and also the policies of the European Union. Through the process, we will highlight the attempts by the ND to cover up the crime in Tempi, but also the attempts to cover up other parties, the real causes and those responsible for the crime.
Focusing on the slogan “their profits or our lives”, we will unfold the character of the policy implemented with an all-out attack on people’s rights, on the commercialization of Health and Education. We will support the proposal with the reasoning we mention, but we do not recognize in SYRIZA and PASOK the role of the real opposition”.
SIA ANAGNOSTOPOULOU: “SOCIAL ANTI-CIVILIZATION WILL BE HEARD IN THE PARLIAMENT”
New Left MP for Achaia Sia Anagnostopoulou pointed out:
“The most important thing for us as the New Left is that the social opposition to the accident will be heard in the Parliament. Society shouts it and it is reflected everywhere, by the whole society and not only by relatives. We say no to cover up.
All evidence points to a systematic cover-up. It is crucial in Parliament that the government face up to its responsibilities. Tempi is not a simple matter and it cannot be covered up in any way. We exercise social opposition because we all need it.”
SPYROS TSIRONIS: “WE SUPPORT BUT IT’S A GIFT”
Achaia MP of “NIKI” Spyros Tsironis analyzes: “I don’t think anything will change. The motion of no confidence I think will just draw a rally for us. We should focus on the preliminary investigation on Tempe and possibly use some new data that would come from there.
In addition, we have before us in May the issues of the Aegean, where we could make use of the motion of no confidence. Now, even the “editing” does not cause a sensation in society as we have a government that has dragged Greece internationally for Rule of Law issues.
However, obviously we will support the proposal. The government is dangerous and must fall, but the present moment is a gift for it.”
