It is believed that the coalition of political parties will be more fluid ahead of the regional head elections (pilkada). Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Viva Yoga Mauladi said the political configuration at the central level was different from the regional ones.
Currently PAN is in the Advanced Indonesia (KIM) coalition with the Gerindra Party, Golkar Party and the Democratic Party.
“Indeed, the plan is to become a coalition in the regional elections, but the political configuration of the central coalition is different from the regional configuration,” said Viva Yoga when contacted, Sunday (17/3).
He revealed that the political parties that have now joined the KIM plan to form a coalition again during the regional elections. However, added Viva Yoga, each region has its own base.
“So, we will unite the Forward Indonesia Coalition for the regional elections, but it is not 100% possible because each district/city has its own base. That would be an interesting thing if it could be realized,” he said.
As reported, KIM, which in the 2024 presidential election is running Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, plans to create a permanent coalition.
The proposal came from Golkar Party elite Ahmad Doli who said that it would be better for the coalition that had been built by KIM to see how the coalition that had been built could be made permanent to face other important agendas in Indonesia, one of which was the regional elections. (Z-3)
