Pathanamthitta | Compensation of Rs 1,58,76,192 to a youth injured in a car accident. Pathanamthitta Motor Accident Claims Tribunal judge GP Jayakrishnan granted compensation to Akhil K Baby (24), son of Prakanam Kuttiplakal KM Baby.
On July 25, 2017, the accident took place on the Ilantur-Omallur road. Akhil’s motorcycle was hit by another motorcycle coming in the opposite direction. Akhil, who was seriously injured in the accident, first sought treatment at a private hospital in Kojancherry and then at the Vellore Christian Medical Mission College, but the medical board assessed that he was 90 percent permanently disabled.
The accident happened when Akhil, who was working in the UAE, came home for a vacation. The verdict was in a petition filed by advocate N Babu.
