A 20-year-old man who stole a patient’s cell phone in the same room and made a mobile payment worth millions of won was caught by the police.
The Cheongju Sangdang Police Station announced on the 3rd that it is investigating a person who is accused of such a crime (fraud) without detention.
Person A is suspected of making a mobile payment with Mr. B’s cell phone, who was in the same room, while purchasing goods at a convenience store in Cheongju in February.
At the time, B was hospitalized in an unconscious state.
A month later, the tail was trampled by a report from the family of B, who was suspicious of the cell phone bill with payment information.
The amount that A used for mobile payments without B’s consent amounted to about 2 million won for about two months.
It is said that he continued the crime by transferring B’s payment information to his cell phone even after he was discharged.
The police are investigating the crimes while checking the method by which Mr. A stole personal information.
