Freddie Prinze Jr has “never” watched an episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.
The 46-year-old actor has been married to Sarah Michelle Gellar, 45, for 20 years. They started dating in 2000. He admitted that despite starring in the iconic series, he never watched the episodes.
She was asked the following question on the Australian show “Kyle and Jackie O”: Have you ever called Sarah by a name other than hers?
He replied, “Not only have I never called her Buffy, but I’ve never seen the show”.
“I was not the intended audience, in my defense. It was my girlfriend, then my
femme [donc] I never called her that. We’ve been married for 20 years and even longer.”
The couple – who have a son and daughter together – met for the first time
on the set of “Remember… Last Summer” in 1997, and Freddie also opened up about their long romance.
He joked: “I hesitate to give advice [amoureux] because what is good for me can kill another, like peanut butter”.
However, he revealed that he still cooks and cleans at home.
He explains: “My mother was a chef and I learned to cook, and I married someone who couldn’t cook.
“So I’m needed. She needs me to live and support her! Number two is laughter. I always make her laugh.”
He “even likes to do laundry”, and he hates dealing with the mess in the house.
He added: “I hate clutter. If something is dirty, I clean it. I do the dishes while I cook so there’s less to look at.
“I can’t stand clutter: my room is spotless, my car is spotless.”
