Now that the dust has settled since the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes softened his position regarding the work of the officials during the meeting.
On Sunday, when a penalty took a winning touchdown off the board at the end of the game, Mahomes was beside himself on the field and he criticized the work of the referees with choice words.
His anger even extended during the handshake after the meeting with the other team in addition to the media press briefings.
It’s all over the web and, inevitably, Mahomes had to answer for his reaction Monday morning in Kansas City.

Hot on Sunday, Mahomes admitted that he asked the opinion of several referees regarding the situation, with no return. Except now that he’s seen the footage, he admits it was the right decision on the field.
Mahomes’ softened remarks go in the same direction as those of Andy Reid on Monday, who clarified that he would not reduce the contribution of Kadarius Toney in his game plan. However, he suggested that his young receiver take the trouble to check with the officials in the future on the field.
The NFL could fine Mahomes for his comments and the star quarterback said he would accept the disciplinary committee’s decision.
