Paul Miller Racing: Dominating IMSA with BMW in 2022 and Beyond

Since their coronation in 2018 in the GTD category with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Paul Miller Racing has always been a leading force in IMSA.

This is evidenced by the other laurels won by, in particular, Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow (24 Hours of Daytona and Endurance Cup 2020). However, the duo was unable to regain the crown over an entire season, including after the change of brand at the start of the 2022 season, with the move from Lamborghini to BMW.

A campaign where the Sprint Cup had rewarded the Sellers – Snow duo and the BMW M4 GT3, but where the absence at Daytona (the car not yet being available) had weighed heavily in the perspective of the overall championship.

This time in 2023, Paul Miller Racing was ready from the Florida opening and if Daytona did not smile on them (8th in GTD), the machine launched perfectly from Sebring and Long Beach with two consecutive successes. Add in the three other victories at MoSport and the two meetings at Road America and VIRginia International Raceway, and Paul Miller Racing is in ideal position heading into last weekend at Indianapolis.

By starting, moreover from pole overall in GT, Madison Snow had already assured the Sprint Cup title for his team, before the final third place on the Brickyard offered the GTD Drivers and Teams coronation to the structure of the New Jersey.

“This season has been a dream, and to secure the title with one race remaining, there is nothing better, confesses Paul Miller, owner of the Paul Miller Racing team. I am very proud of everyone on this team. Madison has shown incredible maturity and growth this year, and Sunday was no exception. Bryan has played a key role in our successes, whether it’s riding hard like at Watkins Glen or keeping an eye on the big picture in really tough conditions like today.

And I can’t say enough good things about this team. They work tirelessly to make this car the best it can be, and it has paid off this season. Their work in the pits is unmatched in this area. It is not just today’s result that was made possible by their extraordinary work, but all the results we have achieved this year. »

The second title in the GTD class for Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow, with a second different brand, rewards an exemplary season, with a record five victories. Or the equivalent of what Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell signed in 2022 in GTD Pro.

“The strategy and pit stops were perfect all day, the team did an outstanding job throughout the weekend to put us in a position where we could claim victory, deciphers Madison Snow. The race was really difficult for us because the traffic was absurd, with too many cars on this circuit, but we managed to survive. I really want to thank our spotters for the work they did today making sure we got through all the traffic. And of course, Bryan did a great job battling through the middle of the pack for over two hours. I’m glad it was him who handled the difficult stints today and, as expected, he did it perfectly. »

“Race wins are great and we are here to win, but the championship is such a reward for everyone, souligne Bryan Sellers. This shows that the effort, commitment and work throughout the season have paid off. I’m so happy we were able to do it. We’ve had a lot of good years at Paul Miller Racing, but this one stands out as our best year. It will be great to reflect on this week and think about how special it all was. »

With such a season behind it, the Paul Miller Racing team can think big in 2024, with a new year in IMSA which should however be achieved in the higher class in GTD Pro. Where BMW will have lacked a representative throughout the championship.
