Matthias Pogba responded to his brother, the French player Paul, and accused him of stealing money, practicing witchcraft and sorcery and endangering the family, before claiming that reports that he had tried to blackmail his brother with 13 million euros were false.

France Info, which had access to police files in the case on Tuesday, said the gunmen initially asked Paul to hand over 11 million euros and were wearing face masks and carrying assault rifles.

But in a fierce response to the latest updates on the case, Matthias accused his brother of “witchcraft” and said Paul “because of fame and money has long since lost his understanding of reality”.

“All of Paul’s statements, since the hearing at the beginning of August to his lawyer’s response and the responses of his supporters, are only meant to get my name in the mud,” Matthias Pogba said in a TikTok video.

For his part, Paul Pogba denied all allegations of witchcraft and sorcery after Matthias said that he asked a sorcerer to cast a spell on Paris Saint-Germain star and his French colleague Kylian Mbappe.

French press reports claim that Paul Pogba paid about $ 100,000 in an attempt to “buy time” and “satisfy the blackmailers”, but his attempts made those conspiring against him raise the amount to 13 million euros.

The French police had opened an investigation into Paul Pogba’s allegations of receiving “threats” and “extortion attempts from an organized gang” against him, after Matthias vowed to “disclose big things”, a file close to the file announced to AFP on Sunday.

The 2018 world champion reacted the day after a video was posted on social media in which Matthias, 32, vowed to “reveal big things” about Paul.

“Unfortunately, Matias Pogba’s recent statements on social media are not surprising. They are added to the threats and extortion attempts by an organized gang against Paul Pogba,” lawyers for the player, his mother Yeo Moreba and his agent Rafaela Pimenta explained in a statement.
