Pavarati: The 8th Gramina Film Festival organized by Valakattupadam Devasuriya Film Club and Pavaratti Janakiya Chachilavedi will begin on Wednesday. Lalitha Kala Academy Chairman Murali Cheeroth will inaugurate the event at 6.30 pm at a specially arranged venue at Valakattupadam.
55 selected short films and documentaries will be screened along with major films Bakivannar, Chavati, Kannalan, Ullurukkam and Sameer.
This time, 102 short films and 23 documentaries were shortlisted in the competition category. Organizers Rafi Neelankavil, Jason Guruvayur and Reggie Valakatupadam said that the film exhibition ‘100 Years of Indian Cinema’ and ‘Celluloid Expo’ as part of the film festival will be the main attractions of the fair. The film festival will conclude on the 19th.
