Xbox continues to develop its ecosystem through devices with a screen and on which it is possible to play. On the sidelines of the Xbox Games Showcase, we learned that Microsoft and Nvidia are strengthening their ties a little more by soon offering games from the PC Game Pass catalog on the GeForce NOW platform!
A weighty partnership!
This is therefore a new major step forward in the spread of Game Pass on a global scale: Microsoft and Nvidia have announced that they are pushing the limits of their partnership signed last February by soon offering certain games from the PC Game Pass catalog on the offer of games on demand, GeForce NOW.
As a reminder, the said partnership had been signed as part of the Activision Blizzard takeover case, for which Microsoft had undertaken to give guarantees to the authorities in charge of anti-trust controls. It was then for Microsoft to prove that the takeover would not favor a monopoly approach in the field of streaming games. Nvidia then agreed to a 10-year agreement to receive PC games developed by Microsoft, as well as those from the Call of Duty license.
The premises of this agreement had given rise to the arrival of major games such as Gears 5 or Age of Empire on the GeForce NOW platform. Now, we know that several games from the PC Game Pass catalog will soon join Nvidia servers, making it even more accessible to first-party titles from Microsoft, as well as those from third-party publishers. More visibility, more possibilities, this is an agreement that should delight owners of machines with modest performance, among others.
We also announced that Game Pass members will soon be able to stream select PC games from the library via Nvidia’s GeForce NOW. This will allow the PC Game Pass catalog to be played on any device using GeForce NOW, such as PCs with limited specs, Macs, Chromebooks, mobile devices, TVs, and more, we will be rolling out this in the months to come.
