Pelion’s “Moutzouris” is back on the tracks – After the disasters from Daniel – 2024-05-09 11:32:28

On Good Friday, Pelion’s train, the well-known “Moutzouris”, started running again.

The line had debris from Daniel’s strike and it took months of work to restore the network. However, Easter visitors all these days filled his wagons and made the amazing route through the greenery and the unique goddess. It is typical that in order to find a ticket one had to book up to three days before the day of the itinerary.

The train starts at 10 am from the station of Ano Lachonia and ends in Milies with an intermediate station in Ano Gatzea. “Moutzouris” travels a distance of 16 kilometers to reach his destination. A route that those who do it characterize as enchanting, as it passes through tunnels and through an endless green landscape at low speed.

As soon as it arrives at the station of Milea, the interest of the excursionists wins, the process of the train engine, which manually changes direction to get in front of the carriages and start the return. For three hours a stop is made at this particular station, so that visitors can enjoy the scenery and the area.

The train will travel on weekends and the following period and of course in the summer months.
