A laboratory falsified the results of breast ultrasounds of users of the community health centers of San Pedro de la Paz. The results appear with signatures of doctors who never worked for the facility, playing with the health of the patients. The municipality sued.
The municipality of San Pedro de la Paz filed a complaint against the medical laboratory in charge of taking breast ultrasounds in the Cesfam of the commune, for the delivery of false exams and identity theft of doctors who appear as signatoriesbut who never worked for the venue.
It was in 2022 when the Municipal Health Directorate tendered and awarded the Novakimen Laboratory the mammary ultrasound service that is delivered through the commune’s family health centers.
Mayor, Javier Guinezpointed out that the rise in cancer diagnoses from first exams compared to 2021forcing a review of all reports.
After that, a series of irregularities were detected, such as changed patient names and the most serious: that the undersigned doctors did not work at the medical center.
“Our local health service realizes precisely because of the follow-up that patients have to have, especially in these delicate issues such as breast exams that are after the verification of cancer (…) shortly after walking We realize that these certificates were falsified, since in many cases they had not been made or simply had the signature of another doctor who did not exist in the laboratory”detailed the communal chief.
With all this background, a complaint was filed against the laboratory and its representative, Roberto Ruiz Lizamafor which reason the Prosecutor’s Office was requested to investigate from tax fraud to falsification of public instruments and identity theft.
Novakimen: False exams in Concepción and falsified resolution
In the administrative field, Renato Medina, from the Department of Municipal Health Administration (DAS), reported that the contract with Novakimen was cancelled, so a contract was made with another medical center and contact is being made with the patients treated to repeat irregular mammograms.
This same and serious problem had already been warned by the Concepción Health Directorate last yearfor which the contract was also terminated and the tests taken by the laboratory were repeated, according to the director of the DAS, Rosario Martínez.
“We managed to carry out 55 exams and we terminated the contract with the company in August 2022considering it pertinent that the 55 exams of Concepción users had to be repeated,” said Rosario, who added that through one of the impersonated doctors They found out that the facility was still working.
From the Seremi de Salud they confirmed that the center it had already been closedafter an inspection as a result of a complaint for operation with a falsified health resolution.

Contacted by telephone the questioned and denounced medical center, which operates in Coronel, did not realize that it was closed, but the Novakimen secretary who answered the call said that she could not refer to the subject.
