Pensioners are attacked by young people in St. Gallen for no reason

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

On Friday evening between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., an 89-year-old man in St. Gallen walked from Kreuzackerstrasse in the direction of the train station. On the unknown way there, young people approached the man. Suddenly, they hit the pensioner, causing him to fall to the ground. The perpetrators then fled without having stolen anything from the pensioner. The man was undeterminedly injured.

The 89-year-old got up once more and ran back to the retirement home on Kreuzackerstrasse. The next morning, a caregiver drew his attention to his injuries, who reported them to the police. The man had gaps in his memory, which is why the scene of the crime and the distance traveled might not be completely clarified.

People who arrived in the Rosenberg/Kreuzbleiche/St. Leonhardstrasse/Bahnhof noticed something unusual or can provide other information regarding this incident, are asked to contact the cantonal police in St. Gallen, 058 229 49 49.
