Retirees will soon see their pensions increase. To take into account the rise in prices, basic pensions paid from February will increase by 5.3%. An increase which will be added to a 4.9% increase in supplementary pensions for former private sector employees.

“The objective is to protect all retirees once morest inflation,” explained the Minister of the Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, last September when announcing the indexation. After anticipating the revaluation of pensions in 2022, the government simply stuck to the rule which provides for increasing basic pensions at the start of the year according to inflation.
