Pentiment – ​​The soundtrack is now available on Steaming platforms with a double vinyl coming in 2023


Obsidian Entertainment announces the release of the soundtrack of Repentance on several streaming platforms. You can find it among others, on Spotify et iTunes as well as on top Steamto this addressif you prefer to hold a digital copy.

To fit the art style of the game, the team of Repentance wanted to make sure the soundtrack reflected 16th century European instruments and music. To do this, work has been done with the music group Alchemy and its medieval style lending itself perfectly to the atmosphere of the game. Using shawls, old caravans and a host of other period instruments they managed to transcribe the medieval atmosphere of Repentance.

Talented Lingua Ignota, real name Kristin Hayter, composed and performed the song A dream for the game’s epilogue. She drew on German traditions of the time for the piano accompaniment and adapted ” I once had a beautiful fatherland“, for the lyrics. This is a poem by Heinrich Heine, a German writer.

The most music lovers and collectors among you will no doubt be delighted to learn that a double vinyl album to be released next year. This will include a cover made by the painter Benjamin Vierling, who uses various methods of layering paintings, inspired by the Renaissance. The artwork present on the image above is a portrait of Andreas Maler which is full of symbolic elements of the game and will have required almost 2 years of work for the artist!

The vinyl will also feature a neat gatefold with liner notes as well as a painting of Our Lady of the Labyrinth by the art director of RepentanceHannah Kennedy, on the back of the latter.
