Severe turbulence affected the Hawaiian Airlines Airbus A330-200 on approach to Honolulu on Monday, November 19. 36 passengers were injured, 11 of them seriously.
Big fright for the passengers of the Airbus A330-200 of the airline company Hawaiian Airlines. The plane, which had departed from Phoenix, Arizona, was caught in severe turbulence on approach to Honolulu, its final destination, says BFM TV.
“My mother flew away and hit the ceiling”, testifies a passenger, quoted by Hawaii News Now. “All around me there were people crying,” adds another.
Several hospitalizations

In total, of the 278 passengers and 10 flight attendants, 36 people were injured. Among them, 11 were seriously. “Medical treatment was provided to several passengers and crew at the airport for minor injuries, while some were quickly transported to local hospitals for further treatment,” the company said on Twitter.

“We continue to support our passengers and employees who sustained injuries today. We are also performing a thorough inspection of the aircraft prior to returning it to service,” Hawaiian Airlines added.
