Peppe Femling competed with Anna Magnusson in the last race of her career.
Then the partner shot home the SM gold for the couple.
– I will miss him, says Magnusson.
The gold was secured by a flawless finish by Magnusson on the shooting range.
The 28-year-old made it to the finish with a half-minute margin down to the nearest chasing duo – and went into the boyfriend’s arms and received a kiss on the neck.
– It was very nice. I managed a perfect last stretch, but Peppe gave me a good starting position, says Magnusson in SVT.
“A lot of feelings”
Now the career is over for 32-year-old Femling.
– There have been many “lasts” in recent days, but now it’s really done. There were a lot of emotions last week and now you are mostly here enjoying yourself. It has been a nice ending, says Peppe Femling.
For the partner, the career continues.
– I will miss him. We have lived together (even out on the competition trips) and spent an incredible amount of time together. So it will be a different everyday life for me, says Anna Magnusson.
Hanna Öberg against the men
The couple, who represent Piteå’s biathlon club, had wanted to run the relay together. As a result, Hanna and Elvira Öberg formed the club’s second team.
And that Hanna had to go against the men. Something that SVT’s expert Helena Ekholm said she had not seen before.
– It was a bit shaky the first shot, but I think it was great fun. I absolutely did not think that we would be as high as we were, says Hanna Öberg.
The Öberg sisters finished fifth.
