Pepper X holds the Guinness World Record for the hottest chilli in the world. It is 500 times hotter than our regular jalapeño! Ed Currie, a green pepper researcher in South Carolina, holds the record for growing this chili pepper with his Pucker Butt Pepper Company. Pepper X won the world record by defeating Carolina Reaper, who was the first in hotness. Ed Currie is also behind the Carolina Reaper, which was developed ten years ago.
