Pereira does a backflip and defeats Potieria in 54 seconds

Michel Pereira’s circus continues as he takes home another spectacular win, this time at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.

Pereira took on Ihor Potieria on the main card but didn’t even need a minute to pick up his eighth straight win! “Demolidor” Pereira didn’t waste anyone’s time as he quickly sent Potieria to the mat with a hard combination in the opening minute.

Instead of accompanying Potieria to the mat in the usual way, Pereira instead chose to do a backflip and landed on his opponent. Potieria quickly tried to get back to his feet but left himself open for a standing guillotine that Pereira quickly locked in. Potieria just managed to clap out before falling asleep and the crowd screamed in delight.

After the win, it looked like the commission was considering voiding the win as Pereira’s backflip could have resulted in an illegal knee on a prone opponent. However, replays showed that it was close but that the knee had landed on the shoulder, allowing the attack.

Pereira thus extends his winning streak and has now not lost in almost four years. Not only that, none of his last three games have lasted longer than 66 seconds (!)
