Perez closes Real Madrid’s door to Mbappe: We have Vinicius and Rodrygo

On the sidelines of the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Real Madrid’s president responds to rumors of Kylian Mbappe’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has clearly downplayed reports that Kylian Mbappe wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe allowed the Real Madrid train to pass from his station last summer, after his decision to extend with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025.

Mbappe’s decision angered Perez, who made the French international his priority in the transfer market to the point of not getting involved in the Norwegian file Erling Haaland, and as a result Real Madrid did not sign any of them.

Since then, Perez has not hesitated to send some veiled messages to Mbappe, saying in a video clip taken by a fan weeks ago about the Frenchman: “Poor, he must be feeling remorse already.”

And French press reports came out last Tuesday confirming that Mbappe already regretted the decision to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and wanted to leave in January, which he has denied since then.

Nevertheless, it was enough to re-launch Mbappe’s relationship with Real Madrid, and the Ballon d’Or was the perfect opportunity to ask Perez himself about it.

When asked after the concert, Peres said: “The rumors about Mbappe? I’m not just tired, I don’t even read what is being said on this subject anymore.”

“We had a good summer, now it doesn’t make sense, we have a great future with Vinicius and Rodrygo, two stars who can win the Ballon d’Or.”

It seems that Perez decided not to open the door again in the face of Mbappe, when he added to the Frenchman’s pain by confirming that Real Madrid had two stars who could actually win the Ballon d’Or.
