The Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), second in the Formula One World Championship, who finished second in the Japanese Grand Prix, the fourth of the year, said this Sunday at the Suzuka circuit, following signing his thirty-eighth podium in the category Reina – the third of the course -, who is “regaining confidence” and who should “maintain this streak in the next races.”

“It has been a good day for the team. We had good pace today, although we had problems with (tire) degradation initially, and I mightn’t get the desired performance out of the mids due to balance and the track temperature (higher than previous days). We suffered something during the first ‘stint’ (the first round); That compromised our career quite a bit, with (the Englishman) Lando (Norris, from McLaren) making his stop soon, too,” declared ‘Checo’, born 34 years ago in Guadalajara (Jalisco).

“The second ‘stint’ was better, but we had to overcome a lot of traffic and that made our lives quite complicated. With the hard tires we returned to our best level, but at that time things were already somewhat out of sync,” said Pérez, six times victorious in the premier category.

“The positive thing, and what represents progress, is that when we have these types of problems in the first ‘stint’, we are able to solve them in the second; something that did not happen last year,” said the brave pilot from Guadalajara.
