Peskov demanded not to record Urgant and Sobchak in the “fifth column”

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the discussion that unfolded around the TV presenter Ivan Urgant, whose program “Evening Urgant” is temporarily not aired. This coincided with Urgant’s statement about Russia’s special operation in Ukraine and his departure abroad.

“Urgant is a great patriot,” Dmitry Peskov said on Belarusian TV. Adding that this also applies to Ksenia Sobchak and other representatives of the creative community.

“There is no need to slander people and put them in the ‘fifth column’,” added the head of the presidential press service.

Peskov also noted that some of them left because they were afraid, did not understand, but they are not enemies of the state.

“We also have such hawks who believe that everyone needs to go straight to the nail and so on,” Peskov said.

Note that the press service of Channel One previously denied the information about the closure of the show “Evening Urgant”. The TV presenter himself confirmed that he had gone abroad, but noted that he had just gone on vacation and promised to return soon.
