Peter Njonjo: “Sustainable finance should help create business models that don’t yet exist”

Since 2014, Peter Njonjo has been driving down food prices for the end consumer while increasing producer margins in Kenya and Uganda. How? By eliminating inefficiencies in the production and distribution of food, through a blend of technology and agile logistics. At 46, the boss of Twiga Foods (giraffe means giraffe in Swahili) aims to reach 20 million consumers by 2026. We met him on the sidelines of the Building Bridges conference on sustainable finance, which is being held until Thursday in Geneva.
