A Federal police carried out, last Thursday (9/11), the seizure of a cargo at Recife Airport (PE), which contained nothing less than 32 iPhones, 16 Apple Watches e 6 AirPodsas well as various Apple cables.
The products were being transported by a 20-year-old woman, resident of Foz do Iguaçu (PR), whose name was not disclosed, on a domestic flight bound for Fortaleza (CE).
Rated at approx. R$500 mil, the products were found in the passenger’s hand luggage during a PF inspection. She, however, did not provide the invoice for any of the devices to prove their origin.
In addition to the aforementioned gadgets, the PF also found eight ampoules of non-prescription medication in the woman’s luggage. She was arrested red-handed and will be held accountable in Federal Court for the crimes of embezzlement and falsification of therapeutic or medicinal products — and could be sentenced to up to 19 years in prison for all of them.
Last June, it is worth remembering, another load, this one with iPhones and iPads valued at R$100 thousand, was also seized at Recife Airport.
