PGA Tour kicks off Hawaii in 2022

The tour players return to the golf course on the second weekend of the year. Maui, Hawaii is hosting the first tournament of the new year: the Sentry Tournament of Champions on the Plantation Course in Kapalua. With all the tournament winners from 2021, the starting field promises first-class sport and an exciting race for the title. Defending champion Harris English will also be at the start.

With around 23 degrees Celsius and bright sunshine, the conditions seem to be ideal. At the first tournament after the winter break, the starting field is already strong. It is made up of all tournament winners from the previous year. Among others, the defending champion Harris English, the brawlers Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, world number one Jon Rahm and his pursuers Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele. Golf legend Phil Mickelson will also be involved on the Plantation Course in Kapalua from January 5th. “Lefty”, who at the age of 51 was already eligible to play for the PGA Tour Champions, won the PGA Championship last year.
