PH Leaders to Meet on Reforms and Scandals After PKR, DAP Gatherings

Pakatan Harapan leaders prepare to convene following the 2026 PKR National Congress and the DAP Party Conference. Communications Minister and PKR information chief Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil confirmed the upcoming coalition talks, which aim to accelerate reforms and address violations of the law and major scandals.

The Coalition Crossroads After Party Congresses

Speaking to reporters following the Communications Ministry’s monthly assembly, Fahmi outlined the core messages delivered by delegates at both the Keadilan Congress and the DAP Party Conference. Delegates conveyed a distinct directive: pushing ahead with reforms must happen faster, and decisive steps need to be taken regarding major scandals and breaches of the law.

Fahmi mentioned that PKR officials conveyed their gratitude toward DAP for choosing to stay within the Federal Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership until the current parliamentary term concludes. He noted that Keadilan held its congress and did soul-searching, and friends in DAP did the same.

Fahmi pointed out that maintaining political stability must stay at the forefront when evaluating any potential steps, mirroring the Prime Minister’s remarks during his closing address at the 2026 PKR National Congress. He added that any action taken by the parties must be guided by the interests of the people and the country, rather than political interests alone.

Navigating Major Scandals Beyond Tabung Haji

Fahmi emphasized that scrutiny will not stop with Tabung Haji. In line with a decree from His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Felda and other agencies will also be looked into.
