A few months ago we talked about the launch of new sensors Philips Hue Secure Contact. One of the negative points of the new accessory was the lack of HomeKit supportbut everything indicates that this “problem” has already been properly resolved.

As noted by Hueblog.comthe devices received a firmware update (version 1961076030) which adds support for framework Apple’s smart home system — which, obviously, will make it more integrated into the company’s ecosystem.

With the new feature, it is now possible to view the “open” or “closed” status directly from the Home app (Home) — previously, this was only possible through the Philips Hue app — as well as creating a series of automations directly in Apple’s software.

Another interesting possibility is to control other HomeKit devices that are not connected to the Philips Hue Bridge — which certainly expands the number of possible actions for users of the accessory.

Promising practicality and safety and sending notifications in real time, the sensors are available in black or white and can be purchased individually by US$40 or in a pack of two, for US$70.
