From 8 o’clock and for more than an hour, the “City of Friendship” was covered by a dense bank of fog whose visibility was reduced to barely 50 meters.
Since dawn, an intense dew anticipated the probability of this phenomenon that gradually settled throughout the city.
The high humidity and atmospheric pressure caused the fog to be practically “compressed”, since there is no wind and those thousands of water droplets remain suspended in the atmosphere.
“For it to dissipate, dry air or more wind has to enter; in this way the air would stop being saturated,” explains the Meteorological Service regarding these phenomena.
Meanwhile, traffic was carried out with great caution, especially in the downtown area during the time the phenomenon lasted.
