(Samar Abbas) The PIA flight was delayed for more than 36 hours due to the snow storm in Toronto, Canada.
Flight number PK 798 was supposed to reach Toronto at 9:00 pm on Saturday night, Lahore. The arrival of the flight will probably take place on Monday at 10:20 am at Lahore Airport. During the delay due to incompetence, the catering service was allegedly given at a huge cost, the passengers were removed from the plane on the instructions of the Air Traffic Control to close the airfield.
According to the sources, the airline faced huge expenses in terms of parking charges of the aircraft and hotels of the passengers, the flight had to be canceled due to the forecast of snowstorm, during the continuous delay in the departure of the flight, the duty time of the staff was allegedly nearing the end. GM Flight Services offered to pay the crew an alleged extra amount to operate the flight.
The general manager of Inc. asked the staff to be put in the non-international flight category for 3 months.

On the other hand, the spokesman of the airline said that the plane remained at the airport for the flight due to no prior notification of the snow storm, and the crew was not asked to work for more than the prescribed duty time under the rules.
