Pickford came into play – despite the blow

Jordan Pickford is given between the posts in England’s men’s national team and was in the starting eleven for Sunday’s EC round of 16 once morest Slovakia.

But during the warm-up, disturbing images were leaked of the Everton keeper.

The 30-year-old saved a low shot when he suddenly started to reach for his left hand. Shortly followingwards, he interrupted the warm-up, and left the infield at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen.

“Pickford has just left the pitch and he doesn’t look very happy. He took off his gloves and looked in pain. Now the TV cameras zoom in on Aaron Ramsdale (andre keeper) who is also warming up,” the BBC reported.

Joe Hart, former national team goalkeeper, is an expert on the BBC’s European Championship broadcasts. He predicted that there would be no danger with Pickford.

– I saw what happened, he will be okay. It looked like his little finger got stuck in the grass. You always fear the worst right away, but it’s nothing to worry regarding. “He’s going to be OK,” Hart said.

And very true. Once the game kicked off, Pickford was ready to play.

England won the round of 16 2-1 following extra time.
