Kannur: The inclusion of CPM state committee member P. Jayarajan’s photograph in the Kalash procession of the temple festival has created a controversy within the party. The party flag, P. Jayarajan’s picture and Che Gawara’s picture were included in the Koormpakkau Thalapoli festival procession in Kathirur, the native place of P. Jayarajan. This was done by party workers in Pulyod West Patyam Nagar. After the picture spread on social media, the district leadership of CPM came forward denying it. District Secretary MV Jayarajan instructed the ranks not to politicize faith.
P. Jayarajan, who was earlier subjected to party action on account of personal worship, was affected by the Kalash controversy. P. Jayarajan has not responded in this regard.
