Pierre de Maere: from Walhain to the Victoires de la Musique in Paris

In the rural setting of his house in Walhain, Pierre felt the need to have fun. “In the countryside, there are not many possible distractions. So I was looking for a way to keep myself busy. In my room, I started composing with a simple software. I learned completely independently, self-taught. It was very artisanal, homemade! I worked on the musicality, the voice, the texts, the production, etc…“A method that is reminiscent of the journey of a certain Stromae!

After trying out different instruments, after composing using basic applications, Pierre de Maere wanted to take drum lessons at the age of 12. Laurent Sprimont, his teacher, will teach him the art of rhythm, until recently. “When I met him, I immediately felt his artistic talent. I had told his mother that there was no problem, that if he worked and followed my advice, he could go very far. After a while, Pierre had made me understand that there shouldn’t be too many scores, not too many complications. He told me that to make hits, you had to work with four chords instead. We really enjoyed playing together. And I’m glad to see that he succeeded!

From Walhain, to Paris, the course of Pierre de Maere could progress on the steps of Music Victories. “We are all behind him“, told us Juliette, her mother, with a certain emotion. Verdict this Friday evening!
