Pierre Gasly says he is unsure of how AlphaTauri F1 will perform in the 2023 F1 season after changing the concept of next year’s machine “AT04”.
Pierre Gasly will move to the Alpine F1 team for 2023 after a difficult final year at AlphaTauri, where he struggled to find form for much of the season, but his former colleague believes the new car AT04 has so far He says he believes it will be the best car ever built.
Pierre admits it’s difficult to predict the landscape as all F1 teams are developing their cars for the second season of the current regulations.
“In this sport it is very difficult to know what will happen from one year to another,” said Gasly.
“Last season I was top midfielder, but this year I’m back in midfield. Who knows what next season will be like?”
“I know AlphaTauri has completely changed the concept of the car and it may come back into the fight. It’s hard to say.”
“I think the important thing is to work and prepare for next year in the best possible way, and of course I hope that the Alpine package will be even stronger than this year.”
Pierre Gasly has stressed that he is bullish on the AlphaTauri camp’s chances of moving up the standings in 2023.
“From my point of view, I hope things change for the better,” said Gasly.
“They tell me next year their car is the best car they’ve ever had and they’ll be fighting at the front.”
