The prestigious Parisian house Pierre Hermé has announced the upcoming establishment of a first boutique in Luxembourg. Founded in 1998 by pastry chef and chocolatier Pierre Hermé, heir to a family of Alsatian artisan bakers, Pierre Hermé Paris has given its nobility to the concept of “haute pastry”. Forged by his training and his stints at Lenôtre, Fauchon and Ladurée, Pierre Hermé was named best pastry chef in the world in 2016 by the Academy of “World’s 50 Best Restaurants”. Regularly praised by the specialized press, omnipresent on television in competitions such as “Le Meilleur Pâtissier” (broadcast in France on M6), author of numerous successful recipe books, Pierre Hermé is one of the most influential personalities of French cuisine internationally.

The opening of Pierre Hermé in Luxembourg will expand the international network of the brand, mainly based in Paris with around thirty addresses in the Paris region, but also exported to London, Monaco, Basel, Baden-Baden, Marrakech, Doha, Hong Kong and also in Japan, where the pastry chef has around fifteen stores.
In the Luxembourg capital, Pierre Hermé will set up within the Royal-Hamilius complex, along rue Aldringen where several recognized brands have opened in recent months: Pret A Manger, Le Pain Quotidien, The North Face, Starbucks and soon Timberland then Lloyd Coffee Eatery.
In Ville-Haute, the Parisian brand comes to hunt on the lands of Ladurée, the other prestigious French brand, established for a long time with its store located at the corner of rue des Capucins and Grand-Rue. Just like Ladurée in the high-end pastry register, Pierre Hermé will have an impressive catchment area in the capital, since no other Pierre Hermé establishment is established within hundreds of kilometers around. It will also be a competitor to local offers offered by Oberweis, Namur or Kaempff-Kohler, all present in Ville-Haute.
