Mario Bastille admits to not having had any news for several weeks from the Medway company, which is continuing its construction work, estimated at $65 million, on a nine-story building on Saint-Louis Street.

The mayor confirms in the same breath that he does not know more regarding the end of the piling work, which was supposed to end a few weeks ago and which is increasingly undermining the morale of residents in the area.

Furthermore, the Medway company has recently no longer displayed the expected completion date of the work on its website. Initially, delivery of the first phase of the building, with the future CLSC, was to take place in the summer of 2024.

Reached by our news service, a Medway spokesperson assures that this is a technicality. Delivery of the first phase is still scheduled for summer 2024. The conclusion of work for the commercial component is scheduled for fall 2024, while delivery of the residential component will take place in 2025.

As for piling work, the company is less clear in its explanations. They will continue in the coming weeks, but on an ad hoc basis in order to redo certain piles. No timetable is provided for the final completion of this work, which is very noisy and greatly displeases residents of the neighborhood.
