Sharjah: The Pink Caravan, a mobile free breast cancer screening, continues its journey in Sharjah. In August and September, the mobile clinic will travel to more areas in Sharjah in collaboration with the District and Village Affairs Department.
Pink Caravan was launched in 2018 with a mission to provide free breast cancer screening across the UAE. Organizers are Friends of Cancer Patients.
The Pink Caravan started its journey in Sharjah earlier this year. The Pink Caravan tour offers free testing and expert advice, with the message of early detection of the disease and saving lives.
The clinic’s next stop will be at Al Bustan Suburb Council in Al Daid city from August 24 to 25. There is free consultation from 10 am to 3 pm. will be available. The final destination of the Shar Yatra is on September 15 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Sharjah Ladies Club in Kalba.

Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), spearheading the initiative, urged women to make the most of the opportunity and get tested at the nearest facility. Pink Caravan offers free mammogram screening using the Hologic Tomosynthesis 3 Dimensions Mammography System to asymptomatic women ages 40 and up.
“Since the beginning of the year, the Pink Caravan Medical Mobile Clinic has reached key locations in Al Rahmaniyah, Al Seeuh, Wasit, Muwaile, Chaldea, Khorfaqan, Dibba Al Hin, Sharjah International Airport and Al Majaz Waterfront. Although the rates of breast and uterine cancer are high, it is a fact that breast cancer is curable if detected early. The survival rate is 98 percent,” said Susan Jafar, chairperson of the board of directors of Friends of Cancer Patients.
Pink Caravan is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention. It has the capacity to test 40 persons a day.
